Freed Hostage Omer Shem Tov Honors Heroic Friend Ori Danino with Torah Dedication

Freed hostage Omer Shem Tov writes a letter in the new Torah dedicated in loving memory of his friend Ori Danino who saved his life on October 7th at Schneider’s hospital just two tays after his release. His friend Eliya Cohen (to my left) was in captivity with Ori Danino and Ori told him that his wish was to dedicate a Torah. After our Palm Beach Synagogue delegation visited them on Sunday and learned about it, we returned on Monday with a new Torah to complete and dedicate in his honor.

Bli neder, things are moving fast with plans to launch a Sefer Torah campaign from this group in memory and in honor of the hostages. And I want to thank The Chesed Fund for helping us navigate this (I had an hour zoom meeting with them this morning). More details to follow but you should know we are working on it and it’s going to be the most inspiring and ever lasting project we’ve ever done.
