Renewed Rip Current Warning Issued for South Florida Beaches

Following a series of recent ocean rescues, the Miami Weather Channel has issued a renewed advisory warning swimmers of a continued high risk of rip currents along South Florida’s east coast.

“There have been several rescues at our east coast area beaches over the last several days,” the alert states, attributing the hazardous conditions to persistent onshore winds that continue to generate strong and potentially dangerous rip currents. The advisory remains in effect throughout the day.

Local authorities are urging beachgoers to use extreme caution.

Officials emphasize that even experienced swimmers can be quickly swept away by rip currents, and that the safest choice during high-risk conditions is to remain on shore.

Beach visitors are encouraged to check local advisories before entering the water and to heed all posted warnings and lifeguard instructions.
