Parshas Tazria–Metzorah: Riddle

🧩 Challenging Torah Riddle 🧩
I’m not dirt, but I may stain,
Your skin, your clothes, your house — a bane.
A silent sign of something deep,
I wake when secrets fail to sleep.

The kohen looks, but doesn’t heal,
He says a word to make it real.
I speak of gossip, pride, and blame,
But never call you out by name.

I grow in patches, white and bold,
On walls and garments, young or old.
When you are pure and lips are true,
I’ll vanish fast — no trace, no clue.

What am I?

Answer: Tzaraas — the spiritual affliction discussed in Tazria and Metzorah, which appears on people, clothing, and even homes.
