Downtown Miami Braces for Major Traffic Disruptions Thursday During Lexus Corporate Run

Miami, FL — Drivers in Downtown Miami should expect significant traffic delays and road closures on Thursday, April 24, as more than 18,000 participants take part in the 2025 Lexus Corporate Run, one of South Florida’s largest annual 5K events.

The race, known as “South Florida’s Largest Office Party,” kicks off at 6:45 p.m. in front of Bayfront Park, drawing employees from hundreds of local businesses for an evening of fitness and fun.

Major Road Closures:

• Biscayne Blvd (northbound) from Chopin Plaza to NE 3rd St will be closed from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
• Northbound traffic will be rerouted into southbound lanes between SE 1st St and NE 4th St from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
• A counterflow pattern will be in effect along Biscayne Blvd starting at 3 p.m. and lasting until 11 p.m.
• Southbound Biscayne Blvd will be reduced to two lanes starting at NE 6th St.

Access to PortMiami will remain open via NE 5th St or the PortMiami Tunnel.

• NW 5th St to NW 6th Ave: 6:30 p.m. – 7:55 p.m.
• NW 6th Ave (5th–6th St): 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
• NW 6th St (6th–5th Ave): 6:30 p.m. – 8:05 p.m.
• NW 5th Ave (6th–5th St): 6:30 p.m. – 8:10 p.m.
• NW 5th St (5th–4th Ave): 6:30 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.
• NW 4th Ave (5th–6th St): 6:30 p.m. – 8:20 p.m.
• NW 6th St (4th Ave–3rd Ct): 6:30 p.m. – 8:25 p.m.
• NW 3rd Ct (6th–3rd St): 6:30 p.m. – 8:35 p.m.
• NW 3rd St (3rd Ct–Biscayne Blvd): 6:30 p.m. – 8:50 p.m.

City officials urge commuters to avoid the downtown area if possible and seek alternative routes during peak closure times. No conflicting events, including Miami Heat games or performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center, are scheduled for that evening.
