Luxury Car Scam Ends at the Gate: Feds Nab Florida Dealer Accused of $275K Fraud Before Flight to Cuba, Russia

A South Florida man accused of scamming nearly $300,000 from a Hawaii buyer was arrested at Miami International Airport — just before boarding a flight to Cuba with Russia as his final stop.

Vitalii Stefurac, 48, also known as “Viktor,” allegedly took $275,000 from 78-year-old Alan Sue for a luxury 2023 Mercedes G63 with a rare BRABUS package. The car was never delivered — and was sold to someone else.

Sue, devastated both financially and emotionally, said the experience nearly drove him to suicide. “I was stupid and foolish,” he told Local 10 News.

Stefurac ran Dream Auto Collection, a now-closed dealership in Hollywood. Prosecutors say he used the money to fund lavish trips while dodging the victim. He’s now facing federal wire fraud charges.

Despite prosecutors calling him a flight risk, a judge granted Stefurac a $100,000 bond. He was released after his girlfriend put up her Hallandale Beach apartment as collateral. He surrendered his passport and is restricted to South Florida.

If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison and will be required to repay every cent under federal law.
