A 35-year-old man’s unsettling behavior with a “Chucky” doll led to his arrest in Surfside. According to an arrest report, Rit Arias was seen waving the doll—modeled after the fictional serial killer—at people along Harding Avenue on Thursday. Police arrested Arias after he allegedly frightened patrons at the Grove Kosher Market, located at 9467 Harding Ave., despite having already been warned. Arias questioned the officers, asking, "What did I do?" The Surfside police, however, were not amused by the antics. "We got called that you were chasing people with this doll," an officer explained as Arias was taken into custody. Correctional deputies booked Arias, who has a lengthy arrest history, into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He was charged with a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct and breach of the peace.
