On Tuesday, the Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus Synagogue in Miami hosted a solemn and deeply moving Yom Hazikaron memorial, honoring the 25,420 fallen Israeli soldiers and victims of terror. Though thousands of miles from Israel, the South Florida Jewish community stood united in remembrance and solidarity. This year’s commemoration carried particular weight, marking over two years since the devastating October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack that claimed the lives of 1,200 innocent civilians and saw 251 individuals abducted into Gaza. As of today, 59 hostages remain in captivity. Attendees gathered to pay tribute to those who gave their lives defending the State of Israel and to reaffirm a shared commitment to memory, justice, and resilience. The evening echoed with calls for the safe return of the hostages and enduring support for the people of Israel. May their memory be a blessing.Bring them home now.
