Miami-Dade’s Jewish population is flourishing, with a remarkable 25% growth over the past decade! The latest 2024 study by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation highlights a vibrant, evolving community, fueled by an influx of younger newcomers, many under 40, and a significant number from New York and Latin America. Today, over 69,700 Jewish households call Miami-Dade home, representing 5% of the county’s total population—well above the national average. While Miami Beach has traditionally been a cultural hub, North Miami-Dade now leads with the largest share of Jewish households (33%), marking a shift in where the community is settling. Key findings from the survey include: 45% of households include someone born outside the U.S. 13% identify as Orthodox, higher than the national average. 71% have visited Israel, and 95% engaged with Israel after October 7, 2023. 32% identify as Conservative, more than double the national average. 29% experienced antisemitism last year, mostly online. 47% say Judaism is central to their daily life. Leaders point to these findings as a reflection of a strong, diverse, and deeply connected community. Miami’s Jewish population is not only embracing new ideas but also strengthening ties to Jewish traditions. The community’s deep connection to Israel is evident, with 77% of Jewish adults saying supporting Israel is essential to their Jewish identity.
