Palm Beach Synagogue Dedicates Torah in Memory of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas

PALM BEACH, FL – In a moving tribute to remembrance and resilience, Palm Beach Synagogue dedicated a Sefer Torah in Israel on Tuesday in memory of Shiri Bibas and her two young sons, Ariel (4) and Kfir (9 months), who were murdered in captivity after being taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023.

The ceremony was attended by Yarden Bibas, Shiri’s husband and the children’s father, who survived the attack and was later released from captivity. In an emotional moment, Yarden wrote the final three letters of the Torah in their honor, ensuring their memory lives on. The Torah was placed in the synagogue of Kibbutz Nir Oz, where both Ariel and Kfir had their Brit Milah and from where they were kidnapped.

This dedication is part of a broader initiative led by Rabbi Moshe Scheiner and the Palm Beach Synagogue community to honor the victims of the Simchat Torah massacre. Multiple Torahs are being donated in memory of those who perished, bringing merit and spiritual elevation to their souls.

As the Bibas family prepares for the funerals, the Torah dedication serves as a source of hope, strength, and unity, bringing the Jewish community together in mourning and remembrance.
