What an exciting day in the GrowTorah Garden! Our students celebrated the first tomato harvest of the season, proudly witnessing the literal fruits of their hard work. They also had the chance to prepare freshly picked lettuce, washing and carefully checking it for bugs. Through this hands-on experience, students learned about the important mitzvah of l’ovdah u’leshomra—our responsibility to tend to and protect the earth. It’s a wonderful way for them to connect with nature, understand the value of sustainable living, and embrace the beauty of working the land.
