Miami-Dade County, FL – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has successfully completed a major intersection improvement project along NE 203 Street/Ives Dairy Road, spanning from West Dixie Highway to State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard. The $43.6 million project, which began in the fall of 2021, aimed to enhance safety and traffic flow in this heavily traveled area. MasTec Civil served as the contractor for the project. Key improvements include elevating westbound NE 203 Street over the Florida East Coast (FEC) Railway tracks and West Dixie Highway, constructing a new pedestrian bridge over the FEC tracks, and widening the roadway along southbound US 1 and eastbound NE 203 Street, including a new bridge structure. Additional upgrades feature improved drainage along the corridor, updated pedestrian ramps, new signage, refreshed pavement markings, enhanced lighting, and the addition of a bicycle lane along West Dixie Highway between NE 206 Street and NE 202 Street. These enhancements are expected to significantly improve safety and mobility for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists in the area.
