In North Miami Beach, a man was injured Wednesday morning after his vehicle collided with a Brightline train at Northeast 163rd Street and Biscayne Boulevard, officials said. Dashcam footage shows the car driving onto the tracks despite the safety barriers being down. The train narrowly avoided hitting the front of the vehicle but clipped the rear, causing it to spin and come to a stop near a pole. Emergency crews, including Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, responded to the scene. Aerial footage from 7Skyforce captured the driver standing and assisting himself onto a stretcher before being transported to a trauma center for treatment. Authorities said the driver of the car was transported by ground to a nearby trauma center. Officials emphasized that this incident highlights the dangers of attempting to beat a train. Brightline reminded drivers to never bypass lowered safety barriers. Following the crash, authorities cleared the debris, and the roadway has since reopened.
