New dashcam video shows a Florida Highway Patrol trooper using a PIT maneuver to stop a wrong-way driver on the Palmetto Expressway in northwest Miami-Dade on Feb. 21. The driver, 39-year-old John Michael Actisdano, was seen driving a stolen SUV eastbound in the westbound lanes. After a face-to-face encounter with the trooper, Actisdano reversed before being stopped by the maneuver. Actisdano admitted to using fentanyl mixed with MDMA and was found driving with a suspended license. Authorities discovered two bags of a white powdery substance in the vehicle. A dog in the backseat was taken by animal control. Actisdano, facing charges of grand theft, DUI, and driving with a suspended license, was evaluated at a hospital and remains in jail at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
